This means that a shirt with collar size 39 has a different body profile than one with size 40, resulting in a better fit across the chest, waist, and arms.
How a Slim Fit Shirt Should Fit:
A slim fit shirt should sit close to the body without being restrictive. It follows the body's contours and provides a slimmer, more tailored look compared to a regular fit shirt.
• Chest: The shirt should sit close to the chest without straining or creating gaps between the buttons.
• Waist: It should be tapered at the waist to accentuate the body's natural form.
• Arms: The sleeves should follow the arm's contour without being too tight or loose.
• Body length: The shirt should be long enough to be tucked into trousers and stay there.
• Sleeve length: The sleeves should end where the wrist transitions to the hand, or 1-2 cm longer to reach just above the first thumb knuckle when the cuff is unbuttoned.
• Collar and Shoulders: You should be able to fit two fingers between the buttoned collar and neck for optimal comfort, and the shoulder seams should sit exactly where the shoulder transitions to the arm.
